100%
Hardwood |
Our
shutters are built out of white poplar, a
fine-grained hardwood noted for its superior
finishing and stability characteristics.
Our white poplar is kiln dried to 5-7% moisture
content, which eliminates warping of our
shutter components. Read more about the benefits
of real wood shutters. |
Joinery |
| Top
and bottom rails are fastened to the stiles
of the shutter panels using mortise and tenon
construction. The joints are also reinforced
using resin emulsion glue and recessed screws. |
Tilt-rod
Linkage |
| Superior
tilt rod linkage used in our shutters is
achieved
by using a continuous length of aluminum
linkage embedded into
the tilt rod, then connecting the tilt rod
to the louvers. This method of connecting
the tilt-rod to the louvers practically eliminates
the possibility of louver and tilt-rod separation. |
Louver
Tension Adjustment
|
| Our
shutters are built with a louver tension
screw, allowing the homeowner to adjust the
tension of the louvers. |
Hinges
|
All
of our hinges are fully mortised into the
shutter panel. Mortised hinges provide
a more stable shutter installation compared
to non-mortised hinges.
